How to Use Your Garment Steamer

Fresh, smooth, ready to wear. Here’s how to make it happen.

1. Fill It Up

Remove the water tank and fill it with water. For smoother steam and less mineral buildup, use Steam & Go Demineralized Water.

2. Set It Up

Attach the hose, adjust the telescopic pole to a comfortable height, and position the 360° swivel hanger.

3. Heat It Up

Plug in your steamer, switch it on, and give it a moment to get nice and steamy.

4. Smooth It Out

Hang your garment and glide the steam head slowly from top to bottom. Keep it moving for that freshly pressed look and an even, wrinkle-free finish.

5. Go Beyond the Closet

Curtains look tired? Linens need a refresh? Upholstery could use a little love? Steam compatible fabrics around your home, too.

When You're Done

Turn it off, unplug it, and let it cool completely before storing. If you won't be using it for a while, empty any remaining water from the tank.

To keep your Rival Garment Steamer performing at its best, use distilled or Unscented demineralized water whenever possible to minimize mineral buildup and extend the steamer's life.

After each use:

Empty any remaining water from the tank.
Allow the unit to cool completely before storing.
Store the steamer in a cool, dry place.
Periodically inspect the steam nozzle and hose for any buildup or obstructions.
Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.

This has been a lifesaver! My back is not great for standing long and ironing, and I’m able to sit and steam iron now with ease!

I bought this because when there's no time for the iron this works well. I've used it on cotton shirts and it does take a bit to get the hang of it but after 15 min. I had a lot less wrinkles in the material. I bought curtains that needed steaming out of the folds after they were washed the folds were still in curtains so I steamed them out and curtains look great.

This little guy is awesome! It removes lint balls and fabric pilling fuzz like magic. I used it on my son’s poly-cotton blend hoodie and honestly, I was amazed with the results. I was ready to dedicate this hoodie to home/backyard wear only because of all the unsightly pilling but after a few minutes with this defuzzer the hoodie looks like new.

Oh my god, this works so well and saved a couple of my favorite sweaters. I tried a wool/cashmere comb first and it sucked. This is great!!!
